The Goal

JJ Agnus needed a website that did more than introduce a book series. Wollstonecraft Legacy required a digital home that reflected the depth and tone of the stories, supported direct book sales, and worked seamlessly for readers both in Australia and overseas.

The challenge was creating a site that felt immersive and intentional, while still handling eCommerce in a practical, user friendly way.

Our Approach

The site was designed to lean into atmosphere and storytelling, with a strong visual identity that mirrors the world of the Wollstonecraft Legacy series. Typography, layout and colour choices were all carefully considered so the site feels like an extension of the books themselves.

As part of this, I created a customised author image using AI, refining an existing photograph of JJ to better suit the aesthetic of the site. The result feels cohesive with the overall design and avoids the disconnect that can happen when standard photography doesn’t quite match the visual tone of a project.

From a functionality point of view, flexibility was key. Each book needed to be purchasable directly through the site for Australian readers, while also linking out to Amazon for international buyers. The experience had to feel simple and clear regardless of where someone was purchasing from.

Key Features

1. Custom eCommerce setup
Books can be purchased directly through the site, with a smooth checkout experience for Australian customers.

2. Dual purchasing options
Each book page includes both direct purchase options and Amazon links, making it easy for international readers to buy.

3. Strong visual storytelling
Design choices and customised imagery work together to create an immersive experience that reflects the tone of the series.

4. Clear structure and navigation
Despite layered content and multiple purchase pathways, the site remains intuitive and easy to use.

The Result

The finished Wollstonecraft Legacy website feels distinctive, confident and purpose built. It supports JJ’s work as a local Tasmanian author while making the series accessible to a global audience.

The combination of thoughtful design, flexible eCommerce and cohesive visuals allows storytelling and sales to work together naturally.
